Tasting Notes
This unique GSM blend offers a vibrant nose of red and black berries, violets, and a hint of
earthiness. On the palate, the wine reveals layers of raspberry, plum, and black pepper, with a
touch of brightness from the clay amphora. It has a silky texture, well-integrated tannins, and
a long, elegant finish.
Winemaking
Fermented and aged in clay amphora for 18 months, this wine benefits from gentle micro-
oxygenation, and because clay is neutral, a pure expression of the grapes. The Nurse is a nod
to Andrea’s mom, Candace, who served Tacoma for many years in the emergency rooms of
Tacoma’s hospitals.
Food Pairing
The Nurse blend pairs beautifully with a variety of bold and savory dishes. Barbecued pork, a
hearty chili, and olive tapenade bring out the blend’s earthy and herbal qualities, making for a
delicious pairing. For a lighter option, goat cheese with herbs provides a creamy contrast to
the wine’s bold profile, balancing its fruit-forward and spicy character perfectly.
